asked on Need a Fix for Bookmarks Problem in Chrome Browser
A few months ago, I started using XMarks to organize my bookmarks. That worked well at first, but recently, the ones on my Chrome bookmarks bar were out of sequence and some just were not showing, although they were there on the master bookmarks list intact.
I restructured the bar with the ones I wanted to be there, and the same thing happened again and again. So a few days ago, I uninstalled XMarks, reformatted the bookmarks bar, and life was good again.
I'm running Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite S55.
BUT this morning, the same darn thing happened! Is this a Chrome bug, have I overlooked a setting, missed something, or what?

These two suggestions seem to have done the trick. I have saved the settings I want and after two days, everthing is appearing just as I set it, without reverting to a different order on screen. So I'll split the point between these two experts. Thanks!

I arranged them in a sequence that I am comfortable with, such as:
MQ Google Bing Mail RG Email WX
and so on. When I close down the browser (and/or the computer) and then open it again,
I'll see:
MQ Bing TV DBC Mail
and so on, with all the ones I set up the way I want out of sequence AND even some from the bookmarks list that I did not place on the bar now showing there!
Working on crystal's suggestion, will report back.
