Best practices for roaming profile for laptop users

Hi Experts,

5 out of my 35 users would be switching over from desktops to laptops. They all are running on roaming profiles right now. These 5 users would like to continue being on roaming profiles. These users will work mostly from their homes over the vpn and coming to office once or twice a week. What would be the best practice to set them up? Do i need to make any changes to their profiles or configuration.

Just FYI, all laptops and desktops are Windows 7, and our DC is Windows Server 2008 R2.

Please suggest.

Thanks

If they will be switching to laptops then what is the point of using roaming profiles. Personally if it was me I would be telling the users that they no longer need roaming profiles because they are laptop users. This will also be more efficient if they are just standard profiles and not roaming.

Using roaming profiles, i can have all their profiles automatically sync to the main server. Even if they lose their laptop or hard drive fails, i can just issue them another laptop and they are all set within minutes.
I guess that could be a legitimate case however unlikely. Anyways to setup roaming profiles you just need to add the network location to the active directory account profile tab.

We are already running on Roaming Profiles. I want to know the best practices when it comes to laptops. They are running fine on desktop computers.
