how to make entry in dns windows server 2008 sp2

I have a website that noone can access.   But, external network can access.  How to I make a dns entry in dns server to allow my users to access the website?  I have not done this in a while

If the external domain name is the same as the internal domain name then you would need a www A record with the correct external IP address.

If I add a line in my pc to point to the website in the hostfile, then I am able to resolve the website.  But, not without the hostfile entry.
Not sure if that helps or not.
Your help has saved me hundreds of hours of internet surfing.
