traditional sharing. &nbsp;It seems that this users computer can see many computers on network, but not her groups computers. except the file server. &nbsp;and can not log onto an one in her groups computers.<br />
she is subset of 3 users in office all on the same network same ip range. &nbsp;only thing changed was upgrading file server to windows 10

Take a look at my article above (which focuses on traditional sharing) and make sure Homegoup is OFF on all machines. This means using user names and passwords to connect.

If ALL the settings (Network and Sharing settings; WORKGROUP name) are all the same between problem and good machine, try running SFC on the problem machine, although I think it more likely to be a setting.<br />
<br />
Also run TCP/IP Reset and DNS Flush to make sure networking is OK although again check settings.<br />

Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator<br />
Then &nbsp;netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt<br />
Also, ipconfig /flushdns followed by net stop dnscache followed by net start dnscache<br />
Then restart the computer

All that was set properly. &nbsp;The problem is that the one computer that stopped working when the file server was switched to windows 10 was that that one computer was using a Microsoft account to log in. &nbsp;When I switched it a local account it connected ok. &nbsp;I tried using the Microsoft account login info for the network login, but that didn't work either. &nbsp;Not sure how to do this if the file server is logged in as a local account and workstations are Microsoft accounts. &nbsp;the other users are using local accounts.

Well I didn't know the user was using a Microsoft account. &nbsp;because it just shows username &nbsp;and password. &nbsp;Nothing about Microsoft account. &nbsp;I realized it was a Microsoft account because it has an email address under the username. &nbsp;<br />

This is a bit of Microsoft nonsense. &nbsp;<br />

Yes now the computers are all local accounts.

Make sure the folders are shared properly so that others can access.<br />

Open a command prompt on one of the machines. <br />
<br />
NET USE Z: \\ipaddressofservingmachin<wbr />e\folder &nbsp;and authenticate. What answer (error code) do you get?

I assume you mean from the user's computer that is not connecting.<br />

I will have to wait until after work hours. &nbsp;so I can switch it back to Microsoft account, because it is working now with the local account setup.

I'm not going to switch to Microsoft account because he requires changing user account back to Microsoft account not just logging back into other account. &nbsp;It is working with local account. &nbsp;I'll leave it at that.
