Did you select the standard Windows 2012 R2 (Windows 2012) template on installation, e.g. you've not change the hard disk storage controller ?<br />

Is this an error message from the CDROM Installer, about insert media, or drivers for storage etc?<br />
<br />
Is, so I would check your ISO/DVD, as oddly as it may seem, this can be a red herring, and your media is faulty, so I would re-download.

agree 100% with the driver comment. many vendors like Dell have their own version of VMware available for download that contains their equipment specific drivers
