Windows 7 logon issue
Win 7 SP3 domain laptop is encrypted with Sophos Safeguard Easy v.6.0. Since the user locked the device at pre-boot. At POA even with local admin acct. We had no chance to start Window. That's why we restored the disk through the system image. After starting the Windows at every attempt when hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys it shutdowns the laptop.
At Safe Mode we checked the event logs but apparently nothing serious found. Did also checkdisk. But still the same.
Please help.
Thanks.

Sound like there's extra security format the drive with a new install cd and re-install from USB or a CD instead of the system restore.
Contact sophos, maybe they know.
I'd test-restore the image to a different disk.

So what are the setting set for the user in MMC?
On Windows Vista and Windows 7 you first have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL to start autologon
and logon. The administrator can deactivate this setting in the MMC console in the group
policy object editor under Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Deactivate
Security Options (for interactive logon, CTRL+ ALT+ DEL is not required).

I did new install from CD and restored via Macrium Reflect which is used for backup on that laptop. But the result is the same.
As for the comments of "joinaunion"; in safe mode I tried to deactivate "interactive logon, CTRL+ ALT+ DEL is not required" it is greyed out I cannot change it!

Question remains: did you restore to a new disk, or was it the same disk? Use another new disk.

From the very beginning it was obvious that the problem was linked to the encryption. That's why disabling all Sophos SafeGuard Easy related services helped to fix the issue.
