Who is doing the F5 setup? &nbsp;Whomever is doing the F5 setup should understand what that means.<br />

If you are doing pass through, that means the SSL connection ends on the back end server and F5 is just passing encrypted traffic. <br />
<br />
Offloading SSL means at a minimum the SSL connection ends on the F5 and F5 does encryption/decryption between it and the end user. &nbsp;<br />
<br />
As an option the F5 may also do encryption/decryption between the F5 and the backend server, which is a 2nd SSL connection.

Thanks for the clarification. &nbsp;I am mainly doing the websphere part of it. &nbsp;Here's the scenario, we recieved a certificate issued to &nbsp;cn=app.prod.elite.com. F5 server name ends with prod.elite.com.. Two server name is server1.prod.elite.com and server2.prod.elite.com . I succeffully replaced the default websphere certifciate with the certificate issued to &nbsp;cn=app.prod.elite.com. <br />

Users will be accessing the app going to url like this <a href="http://app.prod.elite.com(alias" rel="ugc">http://app.prod.elite.com(alias</a>&nbsp;name).So when i go to <a href="http://server1.prod.elite.com" rel="ugc">http://server1.prod.elite.com</a>&nbsp;I get security warning mismatch address howerver certificate is new one app.prod.elite.com. &nbsp;When I go to <a href="http://app.prod.elite.com" rel="ugc">http://app.prod.elite.com</a>&nbsp;mismatch address and i see certifcate shows *.elite.com. I think we need to install the certificate in F5 also that was issued to app.prod.elite.com.<br />
&nbsp;The problem is the F5 has a old certificate cn = *.elite.com. &nbsp;Logically how should I approach to resolve this?
