If you use VMware Converter, it will convert the physical computer so it can be used as a virtual machine under VMware.<br />

I actually took a backup image using Acronis, so I do not have the BIOS information.<br />
<br />
I have a XP license issue which I assume is due to the licence being an OEM.

You do not need the BIOS information, this will not stop the VM from booting or working.<br />

Did you just clone the PC using Acronis to VMware Workstation ?<br />

Deactivate XP in old place by flipping one number in serial number, and activate it in new place<br />
Obviously will not work with OEM licences.
