Print interface Microsoft Office on OS X

After working with Office for mac techs, installing the latest updates and reinstalling the print driver,  the printer interface for excel and mac does not work properly.   When I edited a second spreadsheet in a workbook,  the format options have to be reset.  Also, the printer loses connection with the mac book pro and I have to repeat disconnecting and reconnecting the USB connection.
Pages and Numbers do not have a printer interface problem and work correctly.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That is quite a strange one. Which version of office / OS X are you running? Have you tied reinstalling office?

My problem was caused during the installation of an HP Wireless Printer driver on OS X 10.10.5.   During the installation two printer drivers are installed.  One printer is the wireless printer driver which also supports USB.  The second driver is for the fax option of the printer.   Deleting the fax driver fixed the problem.   The printer is now very good.   Everything prints correctly with all format options available.  I have not connected the printer to my phone line.  So I don't have any info about the fax function.

I found the info to remove the fax driver on the HP troubleshooting site.  It is excellent support from HP.  Of course I had to have the good sense to check that site.  I guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was.

Thanks for your interest
And happy holidays,
Howie
