SMTP intern
Hi Experts,
I have EXCHANGE 2007 running with 2 HUB CAS server.
So I have 2 SMTP Servers.
Is it possible to have one IP which point to both SMTP servers intern ?
For example when I receive emails from extern, they are going to one IP and then load balanced to both SMTP servers.
I want the same for internal network.
Is it possible ?
On my fortigate I can setup LNB but cannot configure it for internal traffic.

do you have a step by step guide for an CAS array ?

As I mentioned I have EXCH2007 with 2 HUB-Transport servers.
The CAS Array is not available in EXCH 2007.
How can I go on ?

Now I found out why I have NLB and Loadbalancer on my FORTIGATE.
Fortigate Loadbalancer is just from extern -> internal traffic.
NLB is configured to have one access point for my smtp traffic -> internal.

CAS is available first in EXCH2010.
In EXCH2007 no CAS is available, here you can setup NLB.

Thanks a lot my friend.
Or is the load balancing configured at a firewall level and it just round robins SMTP requests to the IP of's of both SMTP servers?....
You basically need an NLB setup, which as part of the process you would create a VIP and associated DNS A record which would server internal requests.
You can configure a CAS array which takes it one step further...
