Encryption Outlook 2016
For Office 2016, how do you link a contact’s Digital ID certificate to their contact profile to be able to send encrypted and signed emails?
I have received emails from a contact who has digitally signed their email – meaning they have a Digital ID certificate – however, I cannot update their contact profile to show the certificate when you go into Contacts/Peopel, double click on the contact, click on certificates. Any suggestions on how to do this in Office 2016?
I have Googled quite a bit and some of the steps for the older versions mentioned don't seem to work- (Deleting the contact and then creating a contact from the message, updating a contact, etc.) I have even tried getting a different certificate and importing it to no avail.

as long as their certificate is in your certificate store and you have your certificate you can then encrypt / sign the messages

Thanks David, The trouble I have been having is getting it into that store. When I receive a digitally signed email, the methods for getting it into the certificate store do not work, at least with 2016.

David-
Here is what has worked for me so far so I am looking to see if you have any idea of a simpler way to get another signer's digital certificate into my store and for Outlook 2016 to be able to use it to encrypt,
Here is what I have come up with so far (borrowing some from another EE contributor) Mr. Howe. I can get the certificate associated with the contact in Outlook 2016 if I first send a signed email to the person I want to encrypt and in turn have them hit reply and encrypt an email back to me. When I receive their encrypted email, I can then click on the From field add them as a New Contact into Outlook. Update an existing contact is not an option. After doing that, (which is some cases means deleting the old contact in deference to the new one you just created) everything works.
The problem with this is it requires me to do more than simply accept the certificate of a new signer and it is somewhat clunky. Any thoughts?
