How to edit .mkv file for free

Anybody know how to edit a .mkv file for free with no spyware? WIndows 7 machine

You can do basic editing with the free Freemake Video Converter which you can download from the link below...

You may get a false positive about the Freelook website from Avira Antivirus during installation but that can safely be ignored as Avira does not identify any virus of spyware after the Video Converter is installed.

I have been using this freeware for several years and have found no problem so far. It also comes with a large number of presets that let you easily convert the video into most modern formats.
