Sitefinity 8

Hi Experts,

we are planning to install sitefinity to host our company website and I have lots of questions about it. Sitefinity  uses .net with c#  codebase, though I have background in c# but not for website application and not using sitefinity CMS. My background is Php, MySQL, apache and svn for versioning.

Sitefinity is very new to me, I was reading lots blog and the more I read the more lost I become. so I have outlined all my question seeking additional information from the experts.

 1. Installing sitefinity as website and web applications?  how to install as web application?
   
 2. best practices in developing, usually setup should have a development server, svn, and a production server. must of the blog I read was the development server is in their local machine , which I don't like. this is the setup I would like, Svn for the versioning of files and local computer check-in/check-out from svn and edit the file and push the file to the development server and test the result if no bugs  then push it to the production server. basically, local computer/developer computer should not have IIS, MSSQL and sitefinity installed it should only have visual studio on it.  Can I do that with sitefinity? how?

3. ) I preferred to install sitefinity as a web application in development server, how about the production server should it be sitefinity as a web application or sitefinity as a website?
