A recent update for Windows 10 has made Edge no longer work

This has happened on my home computer as well as on computers in 2 different network environments.   A search doesn't produce anything obvious to a problem that seems to be pretty widespread.

upgrading to the new version of Windows 10 fixed the problem at home but both of the network environments see Windows 10 computers as Vista computers so the don't push out the Windows 10 updates

I performed the complete recovery that wiped my computer.  But before doing so I renamed my roaming profile folder.  The install went perfectly and run without error when complete.  Then before I install any other software the system started updates.  One update completed then I tested again and the OS quit working and showed corruption.  Explain that.  Microsoft when called wanted $500 to fix even though they broke it.  As I see it they make no money selling the software, they make it charging you to fix it.  My computer was wiped no less than 5 times and has not worked.  One time it worked when I went home for the day and it quit after an over night patch.

I put windows 8.1 back on.  Works perfectly fine!  That is until they jam 10 down everyone's throat.

Thank you
