o365 Migration - hybrid only?

Hi

I have spoken to an MS partner regards the above.

I had understood that a cutover migration was moving all mailboxes and shutting down the exchange server (using dirsync), however they assure me that we MUST use our onsite exchange 2010 server still in order to dirsync exchange attributes to the cloud...

Whos correct here?

Thanks

Yes i know dirsync replicates data to exchange on-line.  My query was regarding whether we have to have a hybrid mode or not?
If not then how does it work in full hosted mode?

To have the Exchange attributes available for users and groups in AD, you still need at least one Exchange Server with CAS installed.
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.
