Ticketing System/ Asset Tag tracking.

I'm researching and looking into a ticketing system/asset tag system to use within our organization for 41 users and 50 workstation. Someone referred me to the Spiceworks.com. As I was reading up on this site, I saw they offer a free asset tag tracking application. Has anyone heard of this site? If so,  could you provide feedback. We currently use Access as method of tracking IT tickets and Excel for inventory or all computer equipment. Are there any ticketing/Asset tag system anyone could recommend? I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

Yes Spiceworks has been around for a while, is free, and it pretty damn good for a free app.  It has ads but what do you expect for free.  Spiceworks can help track your devices both automatically by scanning the network and then you verifying the info it finds and changing if needed.  You install it on a machine and then connect to it via a web interface.  It can do most things commercial Help Desk ticketing system do.

For the size of the organization you mentioned I would try it first and if it does not meet your needs look as a paid product.

Hi Michael,

Wow is all I can say! This looks amazing. The price looks reasonable as well. I'm going to take a look at it and see how it can assist with our company needs as we have a small company of 41 employee's. I'm interested in the reviews as well as yours sounds great. I will let you know what I think of it. I appreciate your insight once again.
