Concurrent Connections to MS Access 2010 installed on Terminal Services Server
Due to some big budget constraints, I was just told to gather details in order to fulfill a Software Architects needs.
We need to install Access 2010 on a server so that about 30 clients can connect to the "Access" server where there will be about 13 different access databases.
The first thing that came to mind was terminal service licensing. It seems like I am going need to buy TS CAL. Am I on track with this?
Is it feasible to install Access on a windows server and have users dial in via RDP/TS ? I've worked a bit with SQL but never with Access. Should I be following a different practice?
A handful of users simply need read access (I've heard of Access runtime) Â while some will be making changes to the DB. The main reason my managers ask me to research on this was because they are trying to save money by avoid having to install Access on each individual computer.
Thanks in advance.
