I am doing a migration from Exchange 2010 TO 2016. I'm using the Exchange Server Deployment from Microsoft. The one question that I have is. Can I run Exchange 2016 without the Edge Transport Server? I will be demoting the 2010 server and will only have this one 2016.

Thank you very much. as a note I do use Avast sever for my mail currently and it is doing a great job. I have been thinking about using GFI Max Mail as well, but I do not see any need for it at the moment.
