Open PDF from Container automatically with filemaker go
The problem is opening a pdf file for view with filemaker go when the pdf is in a container that is an external open type container.
Set variable [$output; Value:Get(TemporaryPath) & "sample.pdf"]
Export Field Contents [Chart Records::document; "$output"; Automatically open]
This just brings up "loading web..." and eventually fails.
A solution would be most welcome.

Sorry if not giving enough information. I just simply made the field in the record a" storage external open " in the options section and it stores everything on an 8 terabyte raid5 pegusis drive. No other interface. As far as the computer and software thinks it is just a large thunderbolt drive.

So, yes the actual pdf is not in the database file. Would have made that file way too big.
Take a look at this Filemaker Knowledge-base article. It doesn't sound like it exactly matches your scenario but it does specifically mention the issue of only displaying the first page of a PDF in FM Go.

What you didn't mention before was the part about an "external open type container". By that do you mean you are storing the file as a Reference only or that you are using something like 360Works Super Container?
