What do you recommend?
Any software like GHOST imaging I can use?

Thanks in Advance!

Tuxedo with AIO has to be excluded/shut down before any backup.
What is GHOST? A libc vulnerability?

Thanks.
GHOST is Symantec tool to backup and restore data.

My understanding of Tuxedo is that it should be stateless,  in which case you just need occasional backups. Anything that backs up your OS might be fine. Is your server physical or virtual? What do you use to backup the rest of your environment with?

If you have enterprise backup software currently,  it should work with proper licensing.  For smaller environments,  Unitrends and Shadow Protect work with physical or virtual systems.  Veeam is virtual only.
If traffic ou want to use some think like the old Symantec Ghost, there is always GNU Clonezilla.

My server is physical. I am not sure at the moment what backup mechanism is in place.

When you say stateless what does that mean?
Data is stored somewhere else. A stateless system wouldn't have actual data. Just software and configuration.

We have oracle database along with application server.
Is the database on the same server?

Do you have any virtualization in place currently?

The database is on the same server and no virtualization.

Hi kevinhsieh,

Thanks!

Wish You a Very Happy New Year!

I do not have virtualization environment.

Does Oracle DB have ready made scripts available to back up database? I will have to check on that

Dumping the database to disk and then get that on remote server sounds good, I can schedule this jon in cron.

We are designing a DR server, so there is nothing which is backed up at the moment.
I am looking for paid as well as free solutions. At least one each.
middleware application server (Oracle Tuxedo on Linux).

That does NOT include Oracle DB backend, or Weblogic frontend.

Correct, but we have Oracle database on the server.
