1. Are you saying that KNX is more flexible than z-wave?
2. Does KNX offer wireless and wired?
3. How is KNX less secure, because surely if it is wired, it is inherently more secure than wireless?

What is your experience in this area, are you a specialist in home automation by any chance?
If it was you, what home automation technology have/would you implement and why?

I am more of security driven as a whole, not specific to home automation only but largely IoT and embedded device dealing with IT systems. I will go for standard driven protocol and wireless connectivity since mobility is important for connecting all the appliance. Short distance is fine for home and wired can be challenging to every part of those IT enabled appliance. There should be a single exit to internet and single entry into the home for remote purpose. Central management is on the single pane of the status for the appliance health and update purposes.
