spf reocrd not found error

spf record lookup give following details for our domain stackteck.com
SPF record lookup and validation for: stackteck.com
SPF records are published in DNS as TXT records.
The TXT records found for your domain are:
Checking to see if there is a valid SPF record.

 No valid SPF record found of either type TXT or type SPF.

I tried putting below spf record in network solution my account still mxtoolbox.com says record invalid

"v=spf1 mx a ptr ip4:209.82.32.103,209.82.32.101 a:stackteck.com include:spf.isheriff.com ~all"
please give me correct syntax for spf record.

ip:209.82.32.103 is my outgoing mail server. isheriff.com relays out incoming emails. my domain: stackteck.com

Hi,

Please use this SPF record for your domain:

Record Type: TXT
Name: Blank
Value: v=spf1 mx a ip4:209.82.32.103 ip4:209.82.32.101 a:stackteck.com ?all

Good Luck!!!!
Don't use that record. It will not protect you from forgery at all.

Your problem is that you've got the ip4 clause syntax wrong. There's little point in having the ptr clause, and it's more efficient for receivers if you list the ip4 clauses first, includes should go last. The ~all default action is appropriate, especially if you're considering implementing DMARC too. Use this instead:

v=spf1 ip4:209.82.32.103 ip4:209.82.32.101 mx a a:stackteck.com include:spf.isheriff.com ~all

Open in new window

Use http://www.kitterman.com/spf/validate.html to validate your record once you've got it in place; it's more accurate than the mxtoolbox checker.

Since your domain doesn't return ANY TXT records I would say that the entry in the DNS zone file is invalid, not the contents (the previous post describes it good) but the record it self.

You have probably entered "stackteck.com" in the "Hostname" as I get response when querying "stackteck.com.stackteck.com" for a TXT Record. Try adding a period (.) at the end of the hostname so that the entry will be "stackteck.com.".

I have implemented all above solutions. but no luck for any solution. still getting same error... No valid SPF record found of either type TXT or type SPF.
kindly give me better solution
I still see that the record is not correctly entered.

Under host try leaving empty if this setting is not accepted then try entering "stackteck.com." without doublequotes.

Also note that according to network solutions manual changes can take up to two hours to get published.
Just now I made changes like this
"v=spf1 mx a ptr include:spf.isheriff.com ip4:209.82.32.103 ip4:209.82.32.101 mx:smtp02-in.isheriff.com ~all"

my incoming 3rd party mail server is smtp02.in,isherifff.com. this mail server is in mx record and they check all incoming mails. so I defined it here too.
my outgoing mail server is 209.82.32.103

I will check again spf record after 2 hrs. with mxtoolbox and post here.

thanks
Above changed give me same error spf not found. just now made change as below again. but now luck yet.

v=spf1 ip4:209.82.32.103 ip4:209.82.32.101 ip4:67.212.91.121 mx a a:stackteck.com. include:spf.isheriff.com ~all
The contents of the SPF record should be (given the last one you posted):
v=spf1 ip4:209.82.32.103 ip4:209.82.32.101 ip4:67.212.91.121 mx a include:spf.isheriff.com ~all

Open in new window

but the problem at this point is not the contents, please just post this line and leave it at that for the time being; the contents of the SPF record is the "DATA" or "VALUE".

the part you have to focus on is the "HOST" or "NAME" field of the DNS Record, it has to either be EMPTY or must list "stackteck.com." (without the quotes but MUST include the period at the end).
ok. I have copied n paste above contents in txt records.
FYI
our a records are like these

www  7200 67.212.91.121

@ (None)  7200 67.212.91.121

* (All Others)  7200 67.212.91.121

autodiscover .stackteck.com  7200 209.82.32.102

fg .stackteck.com  7200 209.82.32.100

fg1 .stackteck.com  7200 209.82.32.103

fg2 .stackteck.com  7200 209.82.32.109

mail .stackteck.com  7200 209.82.32.101

owa .stackteck.com  7200 209.82.32.102
still spf record shows same error
The host field is the one that holds "www" and "@" etc. from the above output, so you need to create a TXT record where:
host= @
value= v=spf1 ip4:209.82.32.103 ip4:209.82.32.101 ip4:67.212.91.121 mx a include:spf.isheriff.com ~all
We configured below mentioned text record now.

Host                 ttl                    value

* (All Others)  7200 v=spf1 ip4:209.82.32.103 ip4:209.82.32.101 ip4:67.212.91.121 mx a include:spf.isheriff.com ~all

@ (None)  7200 v=spf1 ip4:209.82.32.103 ip4:209.82.32.101 ip4:67.212.91.121 mx a include:spf.isheriff.com ~all

still spf record not found message comeup with mxtoolbox.com
You can remove the "*" entry unless you are actually using subdomain emails.

Now I can see the TXT record for SPF in your DNS zone so it should work.

Also checking with mxtoolbox shows it's OK, probably you didn't wait long enough when checking with mxtoolbox.
