TCP/IP not configured correctly
Hi Experts,
I am configuring a Win2008R2 server and I am not able to add the Active Directory Domain Services role using dcpromo.exe because I am getting the following error:
Here are my TCP/IP settings. IPV6 is disabled an the network will not be connected to the Internet. This is the first computer to be configure for the network as a DC so it is not yet connected to anything.
here are my TCP/IP settings:
I have included my device manager as well because I am wondering if the Network Controller warning could be causing problems.

I'd second ste5an get all your drivers installed and configured before you worry about it. there shouldn't be any exclamation marks int he device manager.
the BCM43142A0 item is also a Broadcom Wireless/Bluetooth Adapter also I think. is this a laptop?

ste5an,
In the book I am reading 'Windows 2008 Unleashed' it says to disable IPV6 if I am not going to use it.
Is the Network Controller the NIC to which you are referring?

R. Andrew Koffron,
Yes it is a laptop (Ace Es1-411) and I am having a lot of difficulty finding Win2008 server drivers for it so anything that is not needed for networking will have to remain with a warning.

Yes.
I am having a lot of difficulty finding Win2008 server driversThe device manager can search for drivers in the net. Have you tried this?
As it is a laptop, do you just try to learn it? Then I would consider using a Hyper-V VM for playing with it.

How can I connect to the Internet to search for the drivers if I do not have the drivers to connect to the Internet.

You will have to use another computer with internet and download the drivers. Then transfer over to the laptop using a USB drive or something similar.
The error you mentioned, is an install time error.. You haven't said that you're completly cut off from the net..
btw, you haven't configured a default gateway. Set to you router, then you should be able to connect to the internet.

If you can't find server2008 drivers, look for Vista drivers... Same with 2008R2 and win 7 drivers...

Otherwise deactivate that NIC. Also IPv6 should be active and set to DHCP.
Have you already setup DNS?
