Forward Email to group with rule

Hello,

Using Outlook 2010 on exchange Server:

I'm trying to set up a rule that will forward a received email to about 75 recipients.  The email comes from a SSRS and has an attached PDF.  The rule looks for the subject and sender then forwards the email.  I tried to type in the name of this group into the forward to box when I created the rule but Outlook rejects it saying it cannot send to a user group.  This is a group floating around in my contacts and not one created by the outlook administrator.  Does that make a difference?

When I send a normal email to the group everything works just fine.

Outlook also rejected the length of the "TO" box when I tried to add each recipient manually.  There must be a way to accomplish forwarding by a rule to a user created group?

Thank You for any suggestions.

Hi,

Yes you can forward a received email to group with the help of Outlook rule.

Hi,

According to my test, it'll return an error with "'contact group' is a contact group that may not be used with this feature..."

As TechNet article described: The forwarding address can be any mail-enabled object. Examples of mail-enabled objects include distribution groups, security groups, public folders, and other related items.

Took a lot of reading but it's true, only an exchange admin can create the groups that are big enough to hold many recipients for a forward.
