Cast MKV videos from Android tablet to TV
Is there a wireless adapter (like Chromecast) or an app that will let me cast MKV files locally stored on my tablet to the TV?
I want to wirelessly cast videos stored locally on my Galaxy Tab S2 to my Vizio M50-C1. Oh, that's easy with DLNA, right? Yes, unless you have MKV files encoded with varying types of audio.
I tried several apps but they don't work. (Videostream, Localcast, Bubble UPnP)
Bubble probably works the best but doesn't cast MKV files well... it doesn't transcode. Sometimes the video shows but no audio.
I don't want to convert the video files because that defeats the purpose of easily sending any/most files straight to the TV.
I tried Plex which is awesome but you need a media server, which runs on Windows but not straight from my tablet.
Chromecast was a nice experiment, but it does not support MKV.
Thoughts?
... am I going to have to get an HDMI adapter and physically plug in the tablet to the TV?

@neel_7575 That device is only for audio...
True. Now that you mentioned it, it sure does only audio. Sorry.
Have you checked other options like Miracast or Apple TV..

Have you tried VLC Media Player?
Or a Plex server?

VLC does not cast from Android
As I mentioned, Plex does not cast from Android locally. It needs a media server.

Ah, I misread the Android App capabilities on the Plex website. My apologies.
Get an HDMI adapter and physically plug in the tablet to the TV is a better choice.

MKV is just a container and the media inside the container can be of various video and audio codecs.
If you can read Chinese, you can try baidu cloud player but you need to sign up an account. It is not easy to do if you do not read Chinese at all.

OR
You can try MoliPlayer.

The other options offered do not solve the issue I had. I found the solution by testing several application options and by talking to the BubbleUPnP support staff.
A random internet search revealed among other products, the Mpow Streambot 2-In-1 Transmitter and Receiver.. you could check it out
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.
