Answer to Nidal

Hello Nidal and happy new year to you too.

I am glad we are on the same page. I didn’t wait to receive the two sensors to start working on the project at all. As a matter of fact in my email of 11/24/2015 to you I am suggest sting to proceed anyway with the installation of the Range Extender before the temperature drops while waiting on the Sensors to arrive because I understood the urgency of the matter, but I have never received the approval to proceed.

On December 10th 2015, when I met with Jeff at the xxxxxx condominium to determine the best location where to install the Range Extender I had to configure it first. Therefore, the range extender has been already configured since December 10th  2015. I gave it to Jose and he knows that I couldn’t complete the project because no functioning sensors were available at that time.

To tell you more, after the installation, I was also ready to connect the sensor in unit 418 and complete the project, when Jose and I discovered that both spare sensors were not working. With Jose we called the manufacture Monnit and troubleshoot both devices. After about one hour and thirty minutes, Monnit confirmed that both devices were defective and asked to ship them back. I have been expecting a phone call to know when the new sensors arrived at the Sierra condominium to complete the project since then, but as today it didn’t happen yet. I followed up a few times with Jose on the status of the Sensors, On December 23 2015 I received his last update saying:

“Spoke to a representative at Monnit they told me that the rep. that is handling our case is gone on Vacation. Also he said he'll try is best into looking on the status of our sensors and call me back.
Sent from my iPhone”

I would like also to add that it’s since August that I have been suggesting to keep in the office a working sensors, since when Jessica was in charge of the office.

Also, the second thing that I noticed during the installation of the Range Extender is that;

I was not able to connect to the internet when trying connecting to the Range Extender that is already installed on the 4th floor. I was able to bridge and configure the second Range Extender to the one which is already in place but I was not able to connect to the internet when connecting to neither of them.  This made me suspicious and at that point, I verified the hardware and setup of the new installed device with the Amped manufacture and they confirmed that the new Range Extender  was properly configured, but they said that something wasn’t right is the existing one. I couldn’t perform further testing because I didn’t have a functioning Sensor available.
I remember that the same morning I also when spoke to you over the phone Nidal and informed you about the finding.

As I mentioned in various occasions, I am prepared to make this project my top priority, but we need to have the functioning Sensors to complete the project. Nidal, I have never received a functioning receiver when asked or at this point, the project will be completed. When I was at the office we spend an hour and half troubleshooting those defective devices because according to Jose those were the only one available. I have also suggested to temporary take out a functioning Sensor from one unit to test and complete the project but Jose mentioned that was not an option. Why wouldn't I used it if I had one properly working ? I am glad that finally we have one working Sensor to move forward with the project.

Jose, tomorrow morning I will call you to confirm that you now have one functioning Sensor as Nidal have just mentioned in his last email.

Thank you everyone for the update.

Some thoughts to consider (but not a complete re-write)

Hello Nidal and happy new year to you too.

I am glad we are on the same page with respect to [[[...subject...]]. I didn’t wait to receive the two sensors to start working on the project. As a matter of fact, in my email of 11/24/2015 to you, I am suggesting that we proceed with the installation of the Range Extender before the temperature gets too cold. We can wait for the Sensors to arrive because I understood the urgency of the matter, but I have not yet received the approval to proceed.

On December 10th 2015, when I met with Jeff at the xxxxxx condominium to determine the best location for the Range Extender, I had to configure it first and so the range extender has been already configured. I gave it to Jose and he knows that I could not complete the project because no functioning sensors were available at that time.

To explain further, after the installation, I was also ready to connect the sensor in unit 418 and complete the project, when Jose and I discovered that both spare sensors were not working. Jose and I called the manufacturer Monnit in order to troubleshoot both devices. After about one hour and a half, Monnit confirmed that both devices were defective and asked that we ship them back. I have been expecting a phone call to know when the new sensors have arrived at the Sierra condominium in order to complete the project, but as of today I have not heard. Mrwad99 I know this one was a long one. I need to clarify a few things. to answer to all your questions I already did the adjustment. Than you and John to help me to deliver a professional email as usual. I am afraid that in this email I talked to much what do you think ? I think that I am giving them too much info considering the short email I received form Nidal.

I wuld like to have your opinion please. I don't want to go off the topic, but on the other end Nidal is not aware that at their office still there are not working sensors and I have been asking fofr that working sensor since July :) to be able to complete the job. there are too many people emailing to one another but nobody taking action :)

On the other end I need to cover my butt because now the cold weather may freeze the pipes and I don't want to be blamable for their lack of interest in the project. I am attaching Nidal email so that you can evaluate if my email is on focus or if I am talking too much... thank you a lot..

"Hi Max,

First of all, Happy New Year to you and your dearest.

Second, I wonder why do we have to wait for two spare sensors to at least start work on the project? As you know, the management purchased two additional spare sensors to keep and use as needed. One of the new sensors was defective, and so was an additional sensor that was in one of the units. The two bad sensors were returned to the manufacturer and we are waiting for their replacement. However, and since one of the new sensors is good, it could be used in the unit where the bad sensor was, and therefore I do not understand what are we waiting for?

Thanks,

Nidal
First, I read the first post carefully, and I polished it carefully so It was NOT rambling or repetitive - just long with facts.

Thank you both of you for fixing my emails on a Sunday afternoon. I wish you a very happy new year. Both were excellent re-write.
Question: I would like to save all my questions in selected folders. For example, Mac, proofread, Windows 10, Ext. In this way it will be easier to retrieve in the future a question already answered. Can I do that ? Thank you.
First, I find try save everything too hard for me - too many items.

Second, look at the Briefcase beside your Avitar, top right of EE when you log in / most pages. Pull down the Briefcase - Participated Questions and other things useful are there.  I use Participated Questions.

Third, learn to use Search and setup Searches for your categories. That is another way to find things in a hurry.

I trust that helps, and I was very happy to help you here.
I will follows the three suggestions and let you know of it help me to be faster.. Where searching for an old question/ answer. Thank you ..
Mrwad99 or John, if you have some time, would you please help with the final update for that range extender project I have been working on.

I have posted in a new post.

thank you so much in advance...
