dropbox getting stuck

i've been trying to download 100K files/50G of lightroom files on a Toshiba Satellite via dropbox premium.

I have made exceptions in the firewall & antivirus for dropbox so the needle is moving but i can't keep my computer active enough when i'm out of the room to finish the file.  it's been 72 hours maybe 20 of which i've kept the computer active enough not to shut down but there are still 60K files to go.  the time remaining estimates vary from 15 hours which sounds about right to 15 min which is obviously delusional.  The number of remaining files often does not move despite the computer staying active for an hour or so.  i'm assuming dropbox is paused or stuck but on hovering it says downloading and synching.

i unlinked & relinked my device as suggested on the dropbox help page.  i am not using windows tuneup.

my previous experience with dropbox 5 years ago involved infinitely smaller files which we still had trouble downloading and no one was able to give us a consistent fix.

any suggestions on ways to speed things up other than finding a better download bandwidth (DSL) or buying a new laptop that is not quite so useless?

Does your ISP offer you a Fibre Optic broadband internet?

If yes, go for it. A plan of 100mb bandwidth will be sufficient for speedy data transfer.
I would recommend using Firefox and an extension called download them all, its a download manager. It downloads a file in as many bits as possible much faster.
I would then go to power setting in Windows and select advanced you will see even though in the basic settings you may have told it not to turn off the hard drive, in advanced it is still set.
got through all the settings and disable your machine from hibernating and suspending.
you should be good to go
Are you using the dropbox windows client?

the first two were fine suggestions but ultimately not necessary
