USB keyboard not working correctly

I have a USB keyboard that has been working fine. Yesterday the spacebar started behaving odd and replacing a space with the number 5. Also, the m key is backspacing.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. I've checked the keyboard language settings. I've run a virus scan. Nothing has worked.

I am able to use the on-screen keyboard just fine.

any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

It is a Logitech chargeable keyboard. it is currently fully charged and is fairly new. I've never changed the battery and didn't realize I would need to change the battery.
Re-Chargeable batteries don't last forever. Besides that, their contacts can oxidize, so sometimes it can help if you remove the battery, then clean the contacts on the keyboard and also of the Battery, and after that insert it again.
