CiscoAnyconnect - affecting DNS lookup
Please help -
My DNS lookup is acting strangely after installing Cisco Anyconnect version 3.1.05170 on my new computer (Dell XPS15, Windows 10 Professional).
I work as a consultant and need to connect to several different clients using different VPN software. I installed AnyConnect first and configured it to connect to one client (let's call it vpn.client1.com).
I then installed OpenVPN client to connect to a different client, and noticed that every time I attempt to access a server without either fully qualifying the server name or specifying an IP address, my computer appends the first client's domain name to the request. I am seeing this when accessing intranet sites, servers using PuTTY, and pinging from the command line. This happens even when I'm not connected to any VPN clients.
For example: If I type "ping devserver" in a command prompt, I get the response below - I can't figure out why it's appending "client1.com" to the end of the request.:
Pinging devserver.client1.com [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] with 32 bytes of data
I tried clearing out my local AnyConnect preferences in my C:\Users\packe\AppData\Loc al\Cisco\C isco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client directory, but this didn't help. I see some registry entries referencing client1.com, but I don't want to touch those without an expert opinion.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What do you have defined in your nic properties under DNS suffix? Also what does 'ipconfig /all' show?
ASKER
Ben - thanks for the quick response! I'm not sure how to check NIC properties under DNS Suffix. ipconfig/all shows the information below. I see the suffix (client1.com) under "Windows IP Configuration".
