Word - adding keywords/tags to sections of text, and filter based on those keywords/tags

Hello,

I have a need for Word to be a solution for keeping daily notes on a range of topics, all in one large ongoing document.  Right now I time stamp each note, and I need the notes to stay in chronological order, but I also need the ability to tag/filter/view common topics.

My idea is that I would input a note about topic today, and highlight all that text, tag is as 'Car problems', then perhaps many days of notes on other topics goes by and then I enter another note about more 'Car problems', tag it as such, etc.  Then, later, if I want to view all my notes only about 'Car problems', all other notes are hidden or filtered out.

Is Word able to do this?  Worst case, is there another word processor that does?

Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for the comments.  Interesting use of table sorting! It looks like Word does not have a good solution to natively handle this in non-cumbersome way.  I'll need to look at OneNote (I have never used it).  My question here was going to have other layers of needs; do you know if OneNote or another program does this:

1) A section of text can have more than one tag?

2) Can a section of text be marked as done/hidden?  When I have addressed an open need in my notes, I'd like to hide it, but be able to go back to it later for reference if needed.  (But not have to see it daily).

3) Can Windows Search search for text inside OneNote files, just like it can for Word/Excel files?

Thanks!
One Note is more readily searched within One Note (search function upper right beside the tabs). I use One Note all the time so normally search is redundant for me because I have organized topics logically and find whatever I want quickly. It is a different way of working.
