Website hosting

Hello Experts,

I recently register a domain name lets say as example LINE.COM, please note I am using LINE.COM as an example.

I would like users to reach to it by typing www.LINE.COM. What do I need to do.

Right now I can browse to it by typing http://LINE.COM and not Http://www.LINE.COM

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You need to add a CNAME or ALIAS record.

Go to your records on the site you registered your domain and add in the www to point to your host record

You can contact your hosting provider they would change the backend configuration and change it. They would create a small file and upload the same on the hosting provider.

You need to verify two things :

1)  You have created A record of WWW and point it to your server or CNAME record of your website with WWW.

2) You need to add bindings with www.domaincom in your IIS .

Verify the setting and let me know if you still face issue.

Good Luck!!!!!!!

I will not contact the provider as I want to know how is it done. This is not a technical approach to things.
