Expand Exchange 2013 Database Size
I cannot find any good info on how to increase the database size in Exchange 2013. I want to increase the size of the Information Store Database because it is almost full, and I have about 100GB of free space on my disk. How can I increase the size of the databases? I have attached a screenshot of my current size and my available sizes. All 3 DBs are their own disks and the disks have about 100GB free on each of them, except for DB03 which has much more.
The command I ran for that screenshot was
Get-MailboxDatabase -Status | select Name,DatabaseSize,Availabl eNewMailbo xSpace
My server is running Windows Server 2012 R2. It is Exchange 2013.

I don't think there is an option to restrict database size.
Have you had a look at your event logs to diagnose the services? Were they disabled or stopped?

They were disabled. When we first got the call, I restarted the transport service and mail started flowing normally. Not 5 minutes later were all the services set to disabled.
Do the event logs shed light on this?
It doesn't seem like it's due to space.

I just watched the drive space expand so it is doing it automatically. I didn't look at the event logs yet.
You need to set mailbox limit. That will automatically, restrict your DB size. You can also review this article

Where you can do it via registry key. However, it will dismount the DB once limit is reached and then you need to work on mounting it back.
Best is setting up mailbox limit.

Hi Amit, I think you misunderstood the question.
My bad. Can you explain what is the requirement.
I think what you are trying to say is that you want to increase the Drive size where your Exchange Database live?
If that is correct then you need to go into disk management and increase the size if you have an additonal 100GB.
If you only have a second drive what you will need to do is create another database move the mailboxes to that database and then delete the origianl one.
Mailbox databases will always grow and not shrink. So you alwyas need to have policies/quotas in place to control the overall growth.
Will.

It grows Dynamically, the problem we had was related to a user trying to send a huge file via email and it was blocking up the delivery queue.
