how can I transfer a ringtone from an Alcatel 3G TracFone to a Samsung TracFone?

Hello and Good Evening Everyone,

I have a ringtone on my Alcatel 3G TracFone that I wish to transfer to my Samsung TracFone.   As such, I am wondering how I might can go about accomplishing this goal.    If this can be done, can someone provide the needed steps for carrying out the ringtone transfer between the two TracFones?

             Thank you

             George

Hello Merete

Thank you for your suggestions.  Unfortunately, the Samsung phone (Model  It is SGH-S125G (GP) TracFone is a very basic phone with limited accessories.  There is a connector on the side which looks like a USB connector which is used for charging.  The other Alcatel TracFone has a micro-USB connector used for charging the phone.  The Alcatel TracFone has the ringtone that I wish to transfer over to the Samsung phone.

I am not really sure I have everything which is needed to get started with what I want to do here.  Is it possible I can run a micro-USB to standard USB connector from the Alcatel phone to the laptop, using specialized software designed specifically for the Alcatel phone, select the ringtone and copy/paste it onto the desktop of the laptop, and then through the software transfer it via standard USB to micro-USB to the Samsung phone?  While I am confident the Alcatel phone port is a micro-USB connector, I am not sure about the Samsung phone though.  A little research might be needed to determine that part.

               Thanks

               George

Hello Merete,

Thank you so very much for your suggestions of installing samsung pc studio 3 along with the easy to understand step by step procedures for carrying out data transfers between my laptop and  the Samsung phone,  I went ahead and took the liberty of bookmarking the direct online purchase link for the needed USB data cable.  With respect to samsung pc studio 3, could you provide a tutorial link for using this utility to transfer ringtones stored on a pc to a Samsung cellular phone?

Hello Merete

Thank you very much for your thorough and detailed follow up.  I do have an additional question.  It is my understanding from a previously closed post that my particular model of Samsung TracFone (SGH-S125G (GP)  only supports MIDI format.  I was also told that I was basically stuck with the way it was with respect to its original manufacture setup of ringtones.  Given this information,  do you think the Samsung PC Studio 3 used in conjunction with the Samsung S125G SGH-S125G USB Data Cable referenced earlier will still be sufficient for transferring some ringtones in mp3 format from my laptop to it?  If so, I am wondering what the storage limitation on my very basic Samsung TracFone will be with respect to the housing of ringtones in mp3 format.

                Thank you

                George
