My nephew locked his mobile phone

If it has been sync'd with iTunes, you may be able to get Apple Support to reset the password.

Otherwise you will have to reset completely and set it up again.

it is never sync with itunes. also, i dont mind losing everything inside as its just music. So i guess ill have to reset it to default factory.

but how do i go about it?

This phone is not an iphone. Please have a look at the model i gave above.

Therefore the method you gave here won't work.

Thanks. Go to the manufacture support site and/or call the manufacturer support line and ask how to do a hard reset (without password/passcode).

I was able to do that and it present me to the following screen message (message display upside down so i have turn the phone upside down to read it properly) and it reads:

Select Boot Mode:
[VOLUME_UP to select. VOLUME_DOWN is OK.]

[Recovery                Mode]
[Fastboot                 Mode]
[Normal                   Boot]
--------

With the arrow interchangably right-hand side to those three options.

To change or to select next option you have to go select Home button and not the Volume up or down. They are both wont work.

Anyways I was able to select the Recovery mode using the home button but when I pressed Power Button nothing works, i held it for almost 3 seconds to 5 seconds still nothing. If i hold it for more than 10 seconds, it will shut it down.

Now, i need to figure out how to boot it to the recovery mode by selecting the appropriate buttong.

See if from the vendor site or the link I gave you there is a manual that will provide this information. Normally there is.

I cannot find any manuals. Did one come with the phone?

My solution:

"I managed to reset it by holding power button volume down button and home button.

Then i chose format data. It formatted and that was it. Thanks for the help too. Cheers"
