HI,<br />
I tried opening port 80 on my router. But it didnt work.<br />
My router is DIR-600M D-Link.<br />

it showed its closed<br />

Although i havent &nbsp;setup static ip .. But as i understanding that should not be mandatory.<br />
what am i doing wrong here.<br />

are you using your public IP (ip of router) to access to your server? It should work...

yes i am using my public ip...(got typing <b>whats my ip in google.com</b>)<br />
if i type <b>private_ip/notes</b> my application loads<br />
but if i type <b>public_ip/notes</b> browser times out.

My wireless router status has a wan configuration <br />
where Interface WAN has ip address like : 10.116.xx.xxx

Yes, it would be another router in the middle which is doing NAT. In fact, ip address that are 10.xxx.xxx.xxx are private, so it looks like your router is connecting to a private lan, and the router of that other private lan is who changes the ip again to go to internet.

You can do port forwarding on your router, but not on your ISP's router. If you need to do Port Forwarding on your ISP's router you will need to contact to your ISP and ask him to do it on his own.

But when i typed <b>whats my ip in google</b> it gave me a different ip address... and using that i could not open the page.<br />

If i type ifconfig on my terminal i get lot of output : 
in side that there is a en0 :  block which has inet

why is that ? whats the difference between the two ?
