Kindle Fire says wifi is connected, but can't reach internet

Hi I was able to reach the internet a few days ago, but now the Kindle says wifi connected, but there's an X across the wireess symbol, and it can't reach the internet.  Screenshot attached.

I do have the option of entering a static Ip and DNS, etc. But I'm on DHCP, so would rather not. What would you suggest? Thanks.

"WiFi connected" only means you have a connection to a WiFi router...

It does NOT speak to whether that router was a connection back out to the internet!
Nor does it speak to whether you are an "authorized" user of that router...

Suggest you either:
+ Connect to a different router
+ If the router is your's, try resetting it
+ If it is a public router, try connecting to a different router!

Hi- good point. it is a router which my laptop, my husband's laptop and his tablet are all connected to, and they all go out to the internet.

I'll reboot the router, and let you know. Thanks!
Thanks, rebooting the router gave me a fresh IP, I'm connected out now.
Every now & then a router may need to be rebooted to work properly...

Also, in spite of standards, some equipment just don't "play well with others!"
