FL Studio on Windows 10 laptop: How to add an electric violin track?
Kiddo has laid down the basics of a song using a keyboard, midi out to USB to a laptop with Windows 10 running FL Studio. So far so good. Sounding pretty good. Now he has an electric violin with a 3.5mm output. He tried inputting that to the microphone input of the laptop and the results have been strange. My question is - it that the best input method for adding audio from an electric violin or electric guitar to tracks already laid down in FL Studio? Or should he be using some other interface to USB and/or other software to add this layer? Thank you.
the best would be connecting the violin output to a mixer input then calibrate gain, tone eq, etc; and then record the sound to a digital source (DAT, Digital Audio Recorder) or directy to your pc, but with a good sound card, Idon't think a laptop would have a good sound card and good line input, i would recomend a tower pc at least.
