Hyper-V Issues

I have new server running Server 2012 r2. We will be using this server to host a number of VM'S. I have been trying to do a P2V from 2 Server 2008r2 boxes that I have. To do this I am using the Disk2VHD tool with both the VHXD and Volume Shadow options selected. After creating the VHD's, I can successfully create new VM's in Hyper-V Manager without any issues. When I power them on that's when all of my nightmares begin. One of the VM's won't boot into windows. I continue to get the following error: Boot failure. Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in the selected Boot device.

The second VM will boot just fine until I reboot. After I reboot the VM I continue to get a Mouse not captured in Remote Desktop session. It tells me that must install the Integration Services. I go to install the Integration Services and I receive the following error: A previous installation of Hyper-V Integration Services has been detected (Version 6.1.7601.17617). Click ok to upgrade. After I upgrade, the VM blue screens on me and I can't see the error because the blue screen just continues to loop on me.

Try the tool that Andrew suggests; Disk2VHD - though I've found it USUALLY works - is NOT a supported method of P2V.

Thanks for your response. I did as you suggested and installed the Virtual Converter 3.1 but I got a couple of error messages. I have attached the log.

Thanks again for your help.

Have you tried creating a Generation 1 and a Generation 2 for both VMs to see if it's a generation issue?
