Is this a a Microsoft Windows Server domain that you are referring to? If so, this is accomplished using Group Policy where we define a specific image to standardize the desktop wallpaper on all machines.

No just every day laptops or desktops not a member of a domain
I've never added logos to any customer equipment so I'm not sure if I can be of any help.

Do you ask your customers if they mind having their desktops modified prior to doing this? I'm just thinking that some people might not appreciate the extra advertising.
Hi Davy,
The software you can't remember may be BgInfo:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bginfo.aspx

It is usually used to display system info, such as computer name, IP address, etc., but I don't see any reason why you can't use it just to place a Background with wallpaper that contains your company logo. Regards, Joe
I have used BG Info, but you can just use Wallpaper. That works great.

OP is not on a domain as stated above so group policy won't be of much use.

I also questioned the customer-permission thing above. If the customer agrees, it is easy to just have your high-res logo on a USB stick and set-as-wallpaper... I probably wouldn't want to install unnecessary software on customer PCs either.
