Understanding Jumbo Frames Setup
Hi,
I have the following setup below and I am puzzled if there may be any performance/resource impact to the network if jumbo frames is setup as follows:
Host A ---mtu 1500----switch----mtu 1500-----router---mtu9000 with ospf----router----mtu 1500----switch---mtu 1500---host B
Host A IP:192.168.1.1/24
Host B IP: 192.168.2.1/24
a. If host A sends a file to host B; will there be any fragmentation/performance impact since only the router is setup for mtu support of 9K but host are sending with default mtu size of 1500 even though the file transfer works?
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks.
