EXCHNAGE 2010, OFFICE 365

I have in my organization exchange 2010 with hybrid configuration wizard installed, we are migrating mailboxes from on prem to office 365

I need to know following

1) is there any difference between FOPE and EOP?
2) I have just joined so wanted to know mail flow in my organization
I was told mail comes in through proofpoint gatewayand hits on premise and through outbound connector to o365 it goes to mailboxes on o365 and then through FOPE out? can this be correct

1) Yes, FOPE was the previous antispam/antimalware solution. EOP is its replacement, and is what O365 currently uses. As far as configuring Hybrid is concerned, the process is the same (well you do the same steps in a different interface)

2) Not sure exactly what you mean. Is this how you want to configure it or? Obviously no one here can answer the question 'how is it currently configured', so ask whoever is/was resposnible

sir, I am asking how does the mail mail goes out from office 365, does EOP or FOPE  play ANY ROLE
I started with Experts Exchange in 2004 and it's been a mainstay of my professional computing life since. It helped me launch a career as a programmer / Oracle data analyst
