FaceBook SMS notifications driving me nuts!
Hi all..
Was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction with regards to stopping FaceBook sending me an SMS every time someone updates their status. I've gone through all the settings I can find and (think) I've turned all the SMS notification options off, but clearly I've missed something.
Whenever one of my contacts updates their "Status" I get an SMS from number 01983-266-502 stating [ "Name updated her status: https://fb.com/I/RandomLetters&Numbers – Reply with your comment or "like". ]
Can anyone point me at which setting I must turn off on my FaceBook account to stop these SMS's? It's a tad annoying when the SMS comes in the middle of the night lol..
Thanks..
Andy

Hi Abolaji,
Thank you for your reply.
I don't have a (or can't find) >> Settings >> Text messaging in my settings. I have the following on the left side of the screen when I select "Settings";
* General
* Security
------------
* Privacy
* Timeline and Tagging
* Blocking
* Language
------------
* Notifications
* Mobile
* Followers
------------
* Apps
* Adds
* Payments
* Support Inbox
* Videos
If I click on "Notifications" - on the "Text message" setting, I have "Text notifications are turned off"
If I click on "Mobile", I have "Facebook Messages" set to "Text me: Never"
What am I missing? Can you post a screen shot of exactly which setting I need to turn off to stop these SMS notifications please?
Many thanks and hope to hear back soon.
Regards,
Andy

Abolaji, just an update.
While waiting for your next reply I got one of those SMS's again because one of my contacts updated their status again.
I did as per your other suggestion and replied to the message with STOP
A moment later I got another SMS that says "Facebook texts are now off. Reply on to turn them back on."
I think you've solved it for me. Here's hoping :-)
Many thanks..

Great tip.. didn't know you could switch them off by texting "STOP" to the SMS's Thanks! :-)
It is quite easy to turn off this function, simply use these couple of methods:
1- Deactivate Mobile settings
2- In case, if you are getting Facebook message from same facebook user then write 'STOP' and send back to that number. Actually, sending back with 'STOP' works as unsubscription.

Or text Off to 32665 (its the US number tough)
