Real-time experts

I love the idea of the new EE "Live".  I can see how it would be useful especially in a crunch and would like to take advantage of it.  However, the only payment system I trust today is Paypal.  I like it because I can track my expenses easier and manage it from one place.  Once that becomes available, I will start using it.

I'm looking for an alternative to freelancer.com, elance.com, and prestoexperts.com because despite the fact that they do have experts, they have a lot of people who say they are immediately available, when in reality they are not.  Even freelancer.com with their chat service doesn't go far enough and people often say they are working on something when they really have no intention of it.

I'm looking for alternatives where I don't have to give my credit card to the site.  Assistance is greatly appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

EE does have paypal system.

Yes you get lots of people on freelancer or elance and so on. However the quality of freelancers is definitely better on elance as compared to freelancer. Alas they have decided to merge with oDesk and form a new company called UpWorks. The site has problems and people from elance are fuming actually. Client hate it, developers hate it.

Now if you do want to see someone work, I suggest you take the hourly project type with UpWork or Guru. Then you keep on getting screen shots of the freelancer's screen. I personally hate the feature because that puts my data and computer at risk.

It is much better to trust the freelancer and be specific in your request. For example you have a problem on one of your server. SO you open a request here. Now you can ask the selected person to use Team Viewer or any similar tool. That way you can see if they are working on your problem or not. But apart from that, you need to trust the developer to meet the deadline.

Really good comments sir.  Thank you.  I can't wait till the live system accepts PayPal.  Once they do, I'll be a customer. Unfortunately, it looks like they have decided not to.

Thank you also for your comments. Unfortunately that link says permission denied even though I am logged in on my phone. It doesn't really matter though because until they accept paypal, I'm not a customer.

I thought that group was open. My fault. Let me see if I can get someone "official" to comment on the CC.
