Windows 8 - Possible to disable Windows Key / Start Screen

In Windows 8, the Windows key, when pressed without pressing other keys, opens the Windows 8 Start Screen. I want to disable this functionality. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to disable the Windows key entirely. I love some of the Windows key shortcuts (notably Win + R and Win + E). I simply don't want the Start Screen opening if the Windows key is pressed alone.
