If a wireless extender/bridge like Tekkie is suggesting doesn't work, you could always do a MoCA setup or power line adapters (really depends on how your house is wired)<br />

For MoCA you need a compatible modem, as well as an adapter for the basement, but it feeds internet back from the modem into the coaxial cable which flows to all other spots in the house. If you don't have coax out in the basement, and the extenders aren't working, then the best bet would be the power line adapter setup.
