GoToMeeting / Webex security question
We're getting an increasing number of requests to our service desk to allow the one-off running of a Webex or GoToMeeting session. Users cannot run the client as it's blocked through AppBlocker.
It was suggested that we allow the two applications through AppBlocker however our office manager didn't like the idea of users once again being able to let unauthorized suppliers onto our network. (I've asked Citrix and there's no technical way to prevent the remote control)
I'm very interested to know how other organisations approached this issue, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Horice

I've contacted Citrix who have advised that if we authorize their online launcher then there's no way to stop users giving control access to the third party.
We are currently looking at a solution where suppliers would download an .exe from OUR server to view our screens, this will allow only what we have specified, but only helpful where the supplier can be flexible over what software they use.
Trouble is this doesn't help when user's have an online training session and HAVE to use GoToMeeting, and our current method results in 30 people phoning the service desk all at once!
Our Technology Manager would like a technical solution to the problem, to only let users view passively without granting control. But until that's supported by the application I don't think that's an option.
Thanks - Horice
