Windows 10 Stuck at Build 10240

I am running Windows 10 Enterprise Edition (Version 10 Build 10240) on an HP laptop. When I check for updates the computer reports that my device is up to date. When I run the stand-alone Version 1511 (Build 10586) installer I get the message that "the update is not applicable to your computer." I tried resetting my Windows update history to no avail. Any insight or clues that would help me upgrade my system?

You have to wait for Enterprise to present the next update to you.

Have you contacted Microsoft Support?  If you have Enterprise, you can ask Microsoft and they may be able to point you to the newest build for Enterprise.

I have not contacted Microsoft support. However Build 10586 is available for download on Microsoft's Windows Update site.

But it needs to be for Enterprise and you say the download does not work, and so I expect it is not an Enterprise download.

Don't forget 10586 is a standalone operating system, so it is going to check your base licensing.

You need to have the Enterprise download.

Both of your lines of inquiry had me re-check the download. Although the title describing the update says it is for  x64-based systems, the update details shows that it is for AMD64. Looks like there is not a publically available update for Intel 64-based systems that I can manually download. Picture attached.

Can you verify Enterprise, yes / no?   Because the publicly available download is not for Enterprise. But it SURE works on Intel x64 non-Enterprise Windows 10.

Yes I am running Windows 10 Enterprise (pic attached). I have had colleagues upgrade their Enterprise machines but I believe they used their machine's Windows update service.  Perhaps my options are to wait until Windows Update makes the update available to my machine or I download the complete version of 1511 from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Center.

It is also interesting that I have two other machines running enterprise and the update was available through Windows update. Perhaps the update is luck of the draw right now and I should be patient.

Thank you and good luck. My view is that Build 1511 (10586) is a whole lot more reliable than 10204.

Your picture shows that you didn't download the enterprise version. Enterprise is only available through the volume license service center.
