Move SharePoint data to a new server

Customer was running SharePoint 2010 Foundation. An in-place upgrade to SharePoint 2010 Enterprise was run. Every now and again, the customer gets random errors relating to SharePoint Foundation, and this requires the server to be rebooted.

What I would like to do is move the SharePoint data to a new server.

I have configured a new server with SQL 2012 and SharePoint 2010 w/SP2. I haven't yet run any config wizards on the new server, so can someone please advise on how I can now move the data across?

How much data do you need to move?
Have you tried looking into any migration tools like metalogix?

It's only about 12GB of data. I'm attempting the database detach / attach method, but I'm just waiting for all updates on the new server to complete, to bring it to the level of the existing server.
