Webmail to Office 365

Hi Experts,

I just want confirmation that it cannot be done!

I'm a Office 365 newbie about to set my first one up at present there are only two mailboxes to transfer to Office 365...

Mailbox No 1. Currently resides in MacMail (this should just be a drag and drop once the 365 mailbox has been created??)
Mailbox No 2. Webmail through CPanel (so no pst or IMAP file)

I am under the assumption that there is no such tool to transfer from CPanel webmail to Office 365??

thanks

I think there is an export tool on cpanel, take that export and import in O365. Similarly you if you're using outlook to connect to your cpanel email you can just export to pst from that application and import it into O365.

Thanks Moose, no they were not using Outlook unfortunately but I was thinking of importing into Outlook as a pst file if there is no option with Cpanel?

You should be able to figure out from your host how to connect externally to your cpanel and I recommend you then drop it into a PST and upload it to your 365 account. I also think squirrel mail can do an export as well. I'm not 100% certain.

That would be best approach, make sure that both the mailboxes have PST and once you get the Office365 accounts, connect using Outlook and import the PST files directly to the Office 365 accounts.

ok thanks for the confirmation.....

But  have just come back there and looks like the customer had already started and have now a complete IMAP file! from what I have read this will work fine as well?
Sudeep SharmaTechnical DesignerCommented:
IMAP is protocol and not file.

PST would just be fine.

once you've connected via IMAP you can than export to a PST file. That's when you would reconnect to your O365 account and import all of your email.
