I am planning an upgrade from Product Design Suite 2014 with Vault Basic 2014 to Product Design Suite 2016 with 2016 Vault Basic. &nbsp;Current configuration is Vault Server is on a Windows 2012r2 server, running on a 32 bit version of SQL express 2008r2.<br />

My plan is to use DISK2VHD to create a Hyper-V machine from the current physical machine so there is minimal interuption in work flow. &nbsp;Client machines can then still work while I configure the physical machine to SQL Server 2012 Standard x64, Vault Basic 2016 and migrate from vault 2014.<br />

This sounds good in theory but what am I overlooking?

Microsoft SQL Server is a suite of relational database management system (RDBMS) products providing multi-user database access functionality.SQL Server is available in multiple versions, typically identified by release year, and versions are subdivided into editions to distinguish between product functionality. Component services include integration (SSIS), reporting (SSRS), analysis (SSAS), data quality, master data, T-SQL and performance tuning.

Microsoft SQL Server

Hyper-V is a native hypervisor; it can create virtual machines on x86-64 systems and supersedes Windows Virtual PC as the hardware virtualization component of the client editions of Windows NT. A server computer running Hyper-V can be configured to expose individual virtual machines to one or more networks. Hyper-V Server supports remote access via Remote Desktop Connection. Administration and configuration of the host OS and the guest virtual machines is generally done over the network.
